Compare the Striped Moonpie and Fireman cornhole sets on design, board construction, and bag options to decide which themed set fits your next event.
Quick answer
Choose the Striped Moonpie Cornhole Set if you want a playful, dessert-inspired look for a party or family gathering. Pick the Fireman Cornhole Set if your event leans toward a firehouse, first-responder, or hero theme. Both share the same 24"x48" board size, 1/2" plywood construction, folding legs, and optional bags and carrying case, so the decision comes down to design fit and budget.
What the two themed sets share
The Striped Moonpie and Fireman sets are built on the same platform: 24"x48" boards made of 1/2" plywood, fully sanded for a smooth finish, with folding legs. Each uses a printed vinyl decal sealed with clear-coat polyurethane to protect the design. Both let you add a full set of 8 standard cornhole bags and an optional carrying case. Because the hardware and board dimensions match, your choice is mostly about the theme and the price difference.
Where the designs split
The Striped Moonpie set carries a striped, novelty look that reads as fun and casual—well suited to birthdays, backyard parties, and relaxed tailgates. The Fireman set uses fire-service imagery, which gives it a stronger ceremonial or occupational theme for firehouse events, first-responder gatherings, or gifts for someone in the fire service. Neither design is inherently more durable than the other; the clear-coat polyurethane finish on both is the protective layer to watch over time.
The price trade-off
At catalog prices, the Striped Moonpie set is listed at USD 151.27 and the Fireman set at USD 163.67, both against a USD 247.99 comparison price. That makes the Moonpie set the lower-cost entry into the same board construction. If the fire-service theme is central to your event, the higher price buys the design you want; if you are simply after a durable novelty set for general use, the Moonpie saves money without giving up board quality.
What you cannot compare from the listings
Neither listing specifies board weight, bag material weight, or a warranty period. If you need a set that meets a league specification or a particular bag speed, treat these as decorative or casual-play sets and confirm those details before buying. The absence of published weight also means you should plan for two-person carrying or add the optional carrying case if you will move the boards often.
Decision trade-offs
- Theme fit vs. lower price: If your event has no fire-service connection, the Striped Moonpie set delivers the same board construction for less. If the event is built around firefighters or first responders, pay the difference for the Fireman design. Match the theme to the guest list before comparing prices.
- Bag and case add-ons: Both sets let you add a full set of 8 standard cornhole bags and an optional carrying case. Decide whether you need bags included or already own a set, and whether the boards will travel enough to justify the case. Price the set with bags and case included so the comparison is like-for-like.
- Durability expectations: Both use a clear-coat polyurethane over a printed vinyl decal. That protects the design, but neither listing states a warranty or board weight, so store the boards dry and avoid leaving them in direct sun for long periods. Treat both as protected novelty boards, not all-weather fixtures.
Product facts at a glance
- Striped Moonpie Cornhole Set: 24"x48" boards made of 1/2" plywood with folding legs and a sanded smooth finish; decal is printed vinyl with clear-coat polyurethane. The standard board size and plywood build keep setup familiar, while the clear coat helps the striped design hold up to outdoor use.
Striped Moonpie Cornhole Set - Fireman Cornhole Set: Same 24"x48" 1/2" plywood construction and clear-coated printed vinyl decal, with folding legs and sanded finish. You get identical board hardware to the Moonpie set, so the fire-service theme is the main differentiator rather than build quality.
